Pu erh tea (also known as dark tea in China) is a fermented tea made from Camellia Sinensis, a tea plant that has been cultivated in China’s Yunnan region for thousands of years. It owes its name to the town of Pu erh, the ancestral commercial center of Yunnan province. You’ll recognize it by its dark red color, woody taste and delicate foamy notes. Chinese tradition has recognized the benefits of the pu erh since the dawn of time. It is used in particular for its action on digestion. It also has a detoxifying action and promotes weight loss.
