The Organic China Gunpowder Grade 1 green tea is the result of an exceptional selection from our range of green teas. This is a high-quality gunpowder, with curled leaves and a slightly bitter taste. Organically grown, this tea offers a unique taste experience for green tea lovers. The name “Gunpowder” comes from the English name for this type of tea, which refers to its compact, dense grain shape. This type of tea was developed in the Fujian region of China in the 18th century and quickly became popular around the world for its unique taste and slightly explosive texture when taken hot. The term “Grade 1” means that this gunpowder comes from the best crops of the season, with leaves that are larger, finer and denser than those of other grades. Grade 1 tea beans have an intense green color and a pronounced bitter taste, which is the result of the artisanal fermentation process they undergo over several months. Our organic Gunpowder Grade 1 comes from our farm’s certified organic fields and offers a unique taste experience for green tea lovers. This is an exceptional selection from our range of green teas, with leaves hand-rolled to form compact, dense grains and a slightly bitter taste. For the best taste experience, we recommend heating the water to between 70 and 80°C. Then pour the recommended dosage (12-15g/L) of our BIO Gunpowder Grade 1 into a bowl or cup, add hot water and leave to infuse for 2 to 3 minutes. The slightly bitter taste of gunpowder goes perfectly with the fresh, thirst-quenching water, making it an excellent choice for drinking at any time of day. You can also add sugar or honey if you prefer a sweeter taste.
